۞ History:
Lily began as the much-berated daughter of wealthy politician, William Hollister. As said before, she was not a well-loved child, since her father had wanted a son instead of a daughter. Though her gender was not ideal, William attempted to mold Lily into the perfect daughter. He expect nothing but the absolute best of Lily, from making the Dean's list at school, to being the perfect icon that William could market with his campaigns. Lily went along with this, only ever wanting to please her father and make him finally notice her great potential. For him, she adopted the persona as a wealthy socialite who partied and spent time with the wealthy upper-class. This is where Lily met Harry Osborn, the son of villain Norman Osborn. Lily spent time with Harry first out of desire to improve her image, but then genuinely fell in love with Harry, who felt the same. They dated for a few months, inseparable and even trading constant contacts when apart. Somewhere between their first month as a couple, Lily realized that something was upsetting her beau. He could be moody and morose at times and it scared Lily. She did some prying into Harry's possessions, discovering his secret Goblin journal and the dusty, old Osborn labs. Lily followed through on her plans, entering the labs, but knocked over a vial of the Goblin Serum. When Lily bent down to clean up the mess, she made contact with the Serum, which was absorbed through her skin.

This started Lily's venture into mental instability and her beginning as the criminal, Menace, utilizing old Osborn weapons and gliders in her appearances as the criminal. She used her criminal persona to help sway public opinion, even going so far as killing people.

Before Lily's criminal doings were outed, Lily discovered that she was pregnant with Harry's child, and after having turned down his proposal of marriage, Lily popped the question to Harry herself, after he discovered that Lily moonlighted as Menace. She was sent to jail after being outed, where a very dark Norman Osborn found Lilly, and offered her a choice: join him, or die. Fearing that the child would end up in Norman's manipulative hands for being the grandchild of the Osborn regime should he discover Lily's pregnancy, Lily panicked. The effects of the Goblin Serum on her sanity didn't help either. She figured out a way to prolong her baby's safety by becoming Norman's lover and influencing his decision of mating to produce a "worthy heir". Lily was sneaky, convincing Norman that the child she carried within her womb was Norman's and Norman's alone. While Norman bought this lie, Lily continued to live in constant fear of Norman lashing out and causing her harm, as well as harming the baby should Norman discover the identity of the baby's true father. Lily has stated great fear of Norman, and even detailed the punishments he has doled out, such as locking Lily in a cell or even beating her. He also took advantage of the Goblin Serum's effects on Lily's sanity, such as twisting her actions and tracking her motions in order to twist her actions into his grand master plan.

All the while, the Goblin Serum turned her psyche to a weather storm, pitting sanity against growing insanity. It caused her to do horrible things and she was practically puddy in Norman's hands. It was easy for Norman to manipulate Lily, taking all her fears and anxieties and maximizing them when she tried to turncoat, even pushing the Goblin Serum's effects to new heights and maximizing his control. Threatened her life, the baby's life, and even Harry's life, and while Lily cowered, she couldn't face the thought of losing Harry. But that didn't stop her fears from influencing her to betray her baby's father. When Harry came to Lily's rescue (to her elation and relief) and went against his own father, Lily, fearing Norman discovering the betrayal, fell back to the enemy's side and attacked her lover with the intent to kill, spewing lie after lie with a trained expression. From then on, she continued the ruse as the mother of Norman's child, staying by his side in order to keep vigilance. When the Osborn regime fell and Norman consequently went to jail, Lily saw her chance and ran, not looking back. She hid herself in many places, caring for her growing pregnancy, while also fighting the Goblin Serum which had started to cause her greater bouts of insanity as well as pain as she began to lose further control.

Then the Goblin hit the fan when several villains realized that Lily's baby (still believing it to be Norman Osborn's progeny) would make excellent leverage in the future. They came after Lily, tracking her across cities, until she had no choice but to go to the one person who she could trust in her terror. The same man she loved, who loved her, and who she betrayed. Harry Osborn. As soon as she found Harry (and consequently Spider-Man) her water broke and she went into labor. To Lily's utter surprise, Harry stood by to offer support, even when the villains arrived to take the baby. Lily cried and fought herself, thinking she'd not only lost her life, her love, but now she lost her baby. Again, to her relief, Spider-Man was able to bring back the newborn boy. But before he could present the baby to Lily's arms, Lily, still aching from natural childbirth, left, asking Spider-Man to tell "the both of them" that she loved them (Harry and their child, the newborn son).

۞ Personality:
Lily Hollister is a complicated mixture. She's a maniac and she's actually medically insane. She's also depressed, and suffers from low self-esteem thanks to her father putting her down for so many years for not being the perfect son Mr. Hollister had wanted. And after the entire Osborn regime fell, and Lily realized that she'd made a horrible mistake in siding with Norman Osborn, Lily came to hate herself all the more. Don't excuse Lily right away. True, she was manipulated by Norman Osborn, and she had no choice but to go along with Norman's scheme, but she could have fought back, and Lily didn't. She could've refused to go with Norman, but she went anyways, knowing that it would hurt Harry Osborn, Norman's son and the love of Lily's life.

Lily is cunning and tricky. She is incredibly surreptitious and has told more than her fair share of lies. She's even killed, as a mean to an end. First, it started with her using the Goblin Serum's effects to frame Spider-Man and remove rivals in her father's campaign for Mayor of New York. She was his diligent campaign manager, pulling trick after trick and crime after crime in order to sway the public's opinion. Lily used Spider-Man for scapegoating, framing him for random deaths and various crimes that she had committed. This not only helped boost her father's approval ratings, but it eventually even won him office. Of course by this time, Lily had been defeated (by her own Harry Osborn) and sent to jail. Her schemes didn't stop there. They followed her all the way through the Osborn regime and only petered out when the regime came toppling down. Lily feels great guilt for her crimes, but knows that she can't change the past.

There are three people who Lily loves more than anything in the world and while she's betrayed two of them, Lily still loves them dearly and values their opinions. When Carly, Lily's best friend since they were small, threw Lily's rap sheet in Lily's face, Lily was crushed, though she accepted the hate and spite. She believes she deserves all the spite and more in response to her crimes. The other person is Harry Osborn. Lily loves Harry, and if it hadn't been for the Osborn regime, maybe she would've eventually tried to get back to Harry, but that was not the outcome, as we well know. Even after Harry walked away from the regime, Lily loves Harry all the more for knowing right from wrong. She believes that Harry hates her for all her treacheries and even with these gloomy thoughts, she still sought out Harry in her time of need.

Lily's capability for kindness stands. She can be kind, at first meet, to a complete stranger now that she's started her rehab. She's still fighting the effects of the Goblin Serum and that makes relationships difficult, but Lily can get past it, and that's key. No doubt she is addicted to adrenaline rushes, and has waking nightmares due to the deeper psyche complications of the Serum. She requires medical help, if she ever wishes to really move past the person into which the Goblin Serum turned her. There is still hope for Lily. She is still able to show affection and concern for complete strangers, but it's the Goblin Serum that she's pitted against in an unfair fight for right to her sanity. The way this occurs is, as the Serum continues to degrade Lily's perceptions of reality, the balance goes off kilter. She's already been exposed to the Serum for far too long, so her paranoia and fears are heightened already. What currently keeps her happy are the simple things. Knowledge alone that Harry is caring for their child, some jam slathered on hot toast, or a nice sunny day--these are the things that make Lily happy as she returns to the shift of her personality spectrum that existed before she became affected by the Goblin Serum. She wants to get back to that person, but her own self-loathing gets in the way if she's teetering on the brink in that particular frame of time.

۞ Magical Powers, Skills, and Weapons:
Lily only carries a gun, twenty rounds, and two knives on her since her start of hiding. She also has the goblin-glider, a little floating craft that can shoot smoke and plasma bombs, as well as act as flight-based transportation. The glider can be called by phone number (a tactic Lily used to help protect newborn Stanley from Doc Oc) and by voice recognition if close enough to the owner.

Lily has Goblin Serum coursing through her veins. It caused her these talents: super agility. Lily can spring off walls, do four backflips in a row, and even punch out a wall and still go back to swinging. She's also stronger. She can't lift an elephant, but she has no trouble lifting two fully grown men at the same time. She can even fling them with little trouble. Her muscles are more toned, not aesthetically, but while she can be seen as a "tiny woman", she has the fighting strength of a pro wrestler at best, with sneaky punches thrown into the mix. To make this more simple (I suck at explaining, right?), Lily is a lot like your average freelance mercenary. While she's no longer supplied with the technology of Osborn Corporations, she has come to use whatever weapon-worthy items on which she can get her hands.

The Goblin Serum not only gives her heightened agility and strength, but it has also allowed her the ability to change shape. Lily can transform from a long-legged beauty to a horrible, curl-mouthed anthropomorphic goblin with long horns and hardened, slick skin. She can turn her hands into scraggly claws and make her eyes bulge a horrible liquid lizard yellow. Lily has used this shape in past crimes, finding its disguising ability to be effective. She named this transformation Menace. She no longer commits crimes (unless robbing grocery stores for food really counts for much) but still her persona is in constant use, especially since in times of emotional duress, Lily cannot control the transformation. She's almost lost complete control of her own self.

Scary, right?

۞ Other Abilities:
Lily is a good cook. She's not fame-worthy, but she knows her way around a hot stove and a spice rack. She learned from watching her nannies when she was young. She can skin a fish, pluck a bird (dead first, please) and salt a pork to acceptable measures, but anything more difficult would require intense cookbook studying.

Lily is proficient in French and Spanish. She apparently has used the languages to insult people behind their backs in her youth. She lacks the talent to embroider and sew, and has little patience for painting, as it is a messy activity that she feels takes more time to clean than to play. She enjoys boardgames and fancies herself a champion tic-tac-toe opponent.

۞ Journal Sample:
[ Lily hates this mirror. It's too pretty. It's too shiny. It's too good for someone like her. But if this is the only way to communicate... ]

... [ She coughs awkwardly, a miserable looking young woman with tall, curled horns on her head, and a yellowish hue to her brownie-brown eyes. She does not look well-kept (hair a mess, some reddish-brown color under her fingernails, and it wouldn't hurt to just fall into a river and soak for a week or more. ]

... [ Okay. Talk. Speak. Something. ] ...'lo. [ It's a start. ] I am...a stranger...and I... [ keep talking ] ...want to know more about this place from people who have already been here.

[ It's a good start. Her throat is dry and she's quite parched. ]

Als---hmm, [ hm haw ] I could use some Tylenol if anyone has any.

۞ Third Person Sample:
She shouldn't be here. She shouldn't even be this close, on this street, behind this tree, up in some old treehouse that belonged to the old lady next door (apparently, she hadn't done much digging as of yet). She sits on the poorly conditioned wood boards that make up the treehouse's flooring and pulls out her binoculars. She'd lost her Oscorp patented super lenses a week ago during a fight with a street gang leader who had gotten far too fresh and far too handsy for someone Lily had called a 'Disgusting Rat' upon first meeting. She wonders if perhaps lenses are still stuck down the young man's throat...where she'd last left them.

But she doesn't really have much time to ponder. The little brown house with the little porch lights lights up with its old, hanging Christmas lights flickering on automatically. It's already a month past December, and still, he hasn't removed the lights. Lily is amused by this consistent habit of the man's, but she's also quite somber and remorseful. But she's not here to weep for her sordid past. She's here for a particular reason.

He is just a part of the reason.

He emerges, a curly-haired, tall, handsome young man, with a colored, little baby in the crook of his arms. They're a perfect picture. Right out of those old family furniture magazines Lily used to keep and reuse for collages. Lily can see the perfect picture. The man and the baby standing next to a perfect little cradle in a perfect little nursery, and there she would be. Lily. She'd be right there, looking adoringly upon the man and the baby.

A bitter feeling scratches in Lily's chest and she can feel her eyes start wet with possible tears, but she keeps quiet, only emitting little sniffling noises because it's cold outside and she forgot to bring Kleenex (really the cut and folded gas station bathroom toilet paper that she takes often enough).

Every three weeks. That's how long Lily waits before coming back to this street. Coming back to this rickety, dangerous old treehouse and waiting for hours until that little brown house's front door opens and onto the porch steps the handsome young man, with the baby in his arms.

"...My sweet boys."

Lily can only watch the love of her life and their child from this treehouse.

Which is your favorite rule?: Treat others with respect. IT's a damn important rule.
Do you have any questions?: Can she keep her photo of Stanley and Harry?

Note: Since Lily is a complicated character, with a complicated history, I've used various author interviews and some research with person interpretation to flesh out who Lily is and why she has done the things she's done. Please bear in mind that everyone has their own interpretation of a character. This is just mine. If you want to get comfortable, here are some lovely threads here and here.
